The Wells bowed out of the FA Cup after Haywards Heath edged a close encounter at the Hanbury stadium.
Danny Powell opened the scoring for The Wells when he lashed home a Euan Sahadow free kick on 37mins.
Haywards Heath equalised through a dubious penalty for a soft foul which appeared to be outside the box. Callum Saunders scoring the resulting spot kick.
The hosts took the lead when The Wells were guilty of overplaying in front of goal and Heath took advantage when Nico Cotton rifled home 61mins.
Josh Froggatt had The Wells best chance to equalise but his shot couldn’t find a way over the line, while Freeman Rogers blocked superbly late on to prevent Heath extended their lead.
