Being a member of Tunbridge Wells Football Club matters!

Your commitment to our fantastic Club is important for many reasons. To me you are stating that you really care and want to demonstrate your support it in whatever way you can. Being a TWFC member means that you get a vote at the Annual General Meeting and as a consequence can have a direct influence over the way that the Club is run; where the Club is being taken and gives you a say in the election of the Board of Directors.

My vision of where we should be is a Community Football Club, built for Team Tunbridge Wells not a Team in Tunbridge Wells. I would love to see us with a reserve team with much of it sourced from Tunbridge Wells Youth (formally Tunbridge Wells Ridgeway); I would also like to see an under eighteen team, ladies football and disabled football all being played under the Club name at the Culverden Stadium. We as a Football Club should support local charities especially those who operate either solely for the Borough of Tunbridge Wells or are Tunbridge Wells based. We should have teams that we are proud of, not just because of their sporting prowess but for their magnanimity in victory, their humility in defeat and their excellent conduct on and off the football pitch.

I believe the stadium can become a hub for sport in Tunbridge Wells. Rome, as they say, was not built in a day but we are moving forward and with your support we will continue to progress. There is also another saying which is so true, one volunteer is better than ten conscripts, so if you feel that you have a skill set that we can use here at TWFC then please do get in touch with any member of the Board. We are always looking for help on match days, general maintenance and in so many other areas. So even if you just have a couple of hours a week to help it will always be graciously accepted.

My thanks goes to Jerry Milner, who is ensuring that as a TWFC member you are eligible for membership benefits including discounts at retailers within the Borough. I know Jerry will work tirelessly to ensure the range of membership benefits offered will grow over the coming season, so from little acorns mighty oaks do grow. I invite you to become a TWFC member and support the Club, support the vision and support the Team. As Team Tunbridge Wells we are bigger, fitter, faster, and stronger!

Welcome to the membership scheme for 2015/16 season.

When I was younger, I was told to always support your local team. Unfortunately for my then local team Welling United, this was the late 80's when you could still just turn up at a top flight football match, and pay a small amount of affordable money to watch the best players in the country and join in with a great atmosphere.

These days as we know top flight football is no longer accessible to many, except via a TV screen, and if you want to watch live football then your local team is the best option.

I moved to Tunbridge Wells 15 years ago, for the first 13 years I hardly ever heard about the football club or read anything about them in the local papers, none of my friends went to the games, in fact not many people went at all. And then 2 years ago, remarkably the club went on that fantastic run to Wembley in the FA Vase.

It was for the Shildon semi final that I decided to venture down to the Culverden Stadium to see what all the fuss was about, and that day I found a hidden gem in Tunbridge Wells F.C, and since then I have only been to 2 top flight matches and do not plan on going to many more.

What I found was a community of people from all walks of life that share a common love for their Local Football team. It does not matter which other teams you support, as on match day these do not get mentioned as the focus is all about The Wells. There is also a large network of volunteers that give up a lot of their personal time and effort to ensure that we have a local club at all. Since getting involved with the Membership scheme a few weeks ago I can now really appreciate. How much effort is involved.

Only a few years ago 50 people would turn up to watch matches, since then these crowds have grown to over 250 on average, sometimes near 1,000 for local Derby's but for the Wembley final we took 12,000 fans, and most were from Tunbridge Wells itself, pretty impressive for a town of only 65,000 people. So I am confident more people have yet to discover the hidden gem that is Tunbridge Wells Football Club.

Last season we had 90 members, but this season we have enhanced the membership scheme as we reach out more into the community. We are a family orientated football club, none of our songs are allowed to have any swear words in them, and if anyone is caught swearing then they are quickly reprimanded. Tunbridge Wells now have a reputation as the best supported team in the league. We have the now famous South Stand choir, and we also have now got a youth support section, which is growing every season and even come to away games with us.

So with the help of local businesses around Tunbridge Wells we have developed a benefits package for young and old, which is designed to bring money into the football club and also offer great savings to our members, which are worth much more than the cost of the membership. Each member will also have their own personalised photo ID membership card.

To join the scheme, simply fill in this membership form and email back to membership@twfcexec.com and also send a head picture of each member. For example if you join the Family membership then you will need to send head pictures of both adults and children to be included in each of the cards. You can pay by bank transfer, cash or cheque made payable to Tunbridge Wells Football Club. Alternatively please see me on the membership desk in the club house on match days where we can print your cards straight away.

Please see below for details of the benefits of each scheme, there will be more benefits added during the season.

So come and support your local club, make new friends, watch exciting football and help contribute to the future successes of our football club.

Regards
