The Wells return to The Culverden on Tuesday evening for their first home game of 2020 where they host Welling Town in the 2nd Round of the SCEFL Challenge Cup.

Formed in 2014, this will be The Boots second time entering the competition.
Last seasons effort saw them bow out at the 2nd round stage losing 2-0 to Glebe.

Welling Town are currently without a win in their last 4 outings.

The Wells began 2020 with an excellent 0-3 win away at Fisher.

Clark Woodcock made it 2 goals in 2 games for The Wells when he opened the scoring on 8mins with a goal of the season contender rifled in from 30 yards.

Josh Froggatt promptly missed the opportunity to add to The Wells lead from the penalty spot a minute later when his tame effort was comfortably saved by Fisher Keeper Tommy Taylor.

Simon Overland denied The Fish an equaliser when his finger tipped save denied Jacob Katonia just before half time.

The Wells begin 2020 with a trip to SE16 to face Fisher.

Having finished 3rd last season just 6pts behind champions Cray Valley, The Fish have struggled to find the form that saw them challenge for last season’s title.

The Fish currently sit 15th after 18 games on 18pts. Their playing record comprises of 4 wins, 6 draws and 8 defeats.

3 of their 4 wins have come at St Paul’s.

Tunbridge Wells FC player of the decade is Perry Spackman.

Signed for The Wells by Martin Larkin from Sevenoaks Town in September 2009, Perry went on to be a mainstay in The Wells defence serving under 3 different managers in his ten years at The Culverden.

Perry’s combative style of play and no nonsense approach gained him adulation from the south stand. He was an integral member of the famous 2013 Wells squad that won the Kent senior trophy Vs Lordswood along with reaching the FA Vase final at Wembley Vs Spennymoor Town.

The Wells returned to winning ways and signed off from 2019 with a ruthless display against a relegation bound Crowborough Athletic.

Jordan Wells gave The Wells a 1-0 half time lead when he fired home the rebound from
Jason Thompson’s free kick which had cannoned off the Crows bar.

The Crows pulled level 5mins into the second half when Sam Carrington’s lofted through ball found Jack Funnell who finished deftly.

The Crows were reduced to ten men when Luke Leppard received a second yellow card for another crude challenge on Jordan Wells on 68mins.

The Wells host Crowborough Athletic on Saturday.

The Crows have endured a torrid time this season and sit second from bottom (19th) after 19 games on 13pts.

Their playing record comprises of 4 wins, 1 draw and 14 defeats while conceding an eye watering 63 goals along the way.

The Crows have managed to win just once away from home this season, a 0-2 win at Punjab Utd on Match day #2 back in August.

Having suffered successive defeats, The Wells look to get back to winning ways at The Culverden.

The Wells were left to rue missed opportunities early in the first half as they fell to their second successive defeat away at Lordswood.

The Wells created early chances but Danny Powell was unable to convert from 2 yards out. Powell and Jason Thompson both missed headers to put The Wells in front.

Jai McKinley’s looping header gave The Lords the lead on 21mins.

A lacklustre second half display saw The Wells unable to create any real chances and Lordswood deservedly added a second goal on 72mins when Alex Brefo rifled home a good move off the crossbar.

The Wells travel to Martyn Grove on Saturday to face Lordswood in the SCEFL premier division.

The Lords sit 14th after 17 games on 19pts. Their playing record consists of 5 wins, 4 draws and 8 defeats.

The Wells sit 9 places above Lordswood in 5th on 28pts. Despite Saturday’s defeat to Sheppey Utd, The Wells still remain in touching distance of the teams above them. Richard Styles’s men have played the least amount of games ( 14 ) of all 20 SCEFL premier teams.

The Wells suffered their first league defeat since 5th October as they were put to a second half sword by a ruthless Sheppey Utd.

Laurent Hamici gave the visitors a 18mins lead when he converted from close range.

Ryan Cheek levelled for The Wells when he headed home a corner on 37mins.

A quick fire treble of goals put the Ites out of sight when Dan Bradshaw 60,66 ( Pen ) and Rob Denness 61 converted to condemn The Wells to their fourth defeat of the season.

With the 3 teams directly below them all losing, The Wells remain in 5th on 28pts.

After a 4 week absence The Wells return to The Culverden on Saturday to host Sheppey Utd in the SCEFL premier division.

The Ites sit one place above The Wells in 4th. They have gained 30pts from 15 games, with a playing record consisting of 9 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats.
Sheppey have managed to win only 3pts against teams in the top 8 of the division, Gaining 3 draws against Canterbury ( 2-2 ) , Chatham ( 2-2 ) and Hollands & Blair
( 3-3 ). All of their wins coming against teams currently placed tenth or lower.
