The Wells let a 1-0 half time lead slip and let Canterbury take all 3pts on Non league day in front of a crowd of 312 at the Culverden.
With Early exchanges looking like the game could be heading towards a 0-0 draw with neither side threatening the others goal. The Wells took the lead though on 33mins when good build up play from Ben Hunt and Chris Seenan saw the ball land to Hakim Griffiths who poked home.
The second half began in the same vein as the first with neither side really threatening until the 69th minute when The Wells seemed to run out of steam and Canterbury striker Rob Lawrence equalised for the visitors.
Canterbury found a winner with 6mins of the game remaining when Dan Lawrence capitalised on a defensive mix up and slotted in to an empty Wells net.
The Wells drop to tenth in the SCEFL league table.
The Wells take on Beckenham Town in the Kent Senior Trophy next Saturday at the Culverden.
