The Wells will require a replay if they're are to progress in this years FA Cup after letting Croydon off the hook at the Culverden.
A minutes silence was impeccably respected for those that lost their lives in the Shoreham Air Disaster before the game.
The Wells took the lead on the 23rd minute when Chris Seenan showed exactly what Whitstable will be missing when he lashed in a half volley from an acute angle to give the home side the lead.
The Wells failed to add to their lead and Croydon pulled level on 68mins when Steve Lawrence was adjudged to have handled outside his box which resulted in a yellow card for the Wells number 1 and a free kick just outside the Wells area. The resulting free kick was thunderbolted in from Croydon's Henry-Brown which drew applause from all around the stadium.
Despite a late onslaught from The Wells which saw a goal line clearance and Captain Joe Fuller hit the bar the Wells could not find a winner and will visit Croydon on Wednesday for the replay.
Next up The Wells return to league action where they face 2nd placed Corinthian at the Culverden on bank holiday Monday, Kick Off 3pm.
