Jon Pilbeam's first half goal was enough to secure all 3pts for The Wells trip away to Rochester Utd.
Rochester were reduced to ten men in the first half after they had a player sent off.
Pilbeam netted on 26mins before being sent off midway through the second half.
The Wells stay in 15th and are now 10pts clear of the two bottom teams Fisher and Beckenham.
